Men On The Move, a leading moving and self-storage company serving the New York metropolitan area, has donated a self-storage unit at their Floral Park facility to Book Donation Connection, Inc. in Queens Village. Book Donation Connection, Inc., is a non-profit organization that rescues gently used, unwanted books in the New York tristate area and distributes them to public service and nonprofit agencies in need of these resources.
The Book Donation Connection, Inc., receives thousands of books every year. The organizing and sorting process is time and labor intensive. As books pile up awaiting delivery, the organization was having trouble managing its backlog of books, as its limited storage space quickly filled up. The donation of the self-storage unit from Men On The Move will allow Book Donation Connection, Inc., to more easily manage their inventory of books and increase its capacity.
“I learned about Book Donation Connection and then I saw the organization on the television show ‘George to the Rescue,’ where its office space was professionally reorganized. When we learned of its need for space, it was a great opportunity for us to get involved in a way that we could have an impact. Fortunately we had some space available that would suit their needs. At Men On The Move it is important for us to support our community, and we are pleased to help support this cause,” said John Beyer, President and Owner of Men On The Move.
“Book Donation Connection relies on the donations from local community members and businesses like Men On The Move, which allow us to continue our mission to put books in the hands o f those who need them. We are extremely grateful to John and his team for making this space available to us. This new storage space will have a major impact and allow us to move more books efficiently,” said Book Donation Connection Founding Director Dana Zachary.
